Year 1 = 15; Year 2 = 24 total; after Year 2, add 4–7 human years per dog year depending on size.
After age two, the model adds 4 years for small dogs, 5 for medium, 6 for large, and 7 for giant dogs. Months are proportional and the displayed result is rounded.
Example: a 5-year-old medium dog
A 5-year-old medium dog is past the first two fast-maturing years: start with 24 human years, then add three years at five human years each.
24 + ((5 − 2) × 5) = 39 human years
The traditional comparison says 5 × 7 = 35 human years. It is a quick reference, but it does not reflect faster early development or size differences.
